OUTSIDE BURNING POLICY & RESTRICTIONS FOR ALBURTIS, MACUNGIE & LOWER MACUNGIE

Everyone’s favorite question once the weather turns nice is, “Am I allowed to have a fire in my backyard?”

The short answer is it depends on where you live, and what you are using to contain the fire.

The best answers come from your municipality’s burning ordinance. We have put links below so you can find the right answer for where you live.

No matter where you reside, be mindful of your surroundings. Stay a safe distance from structures and power lines. Follow best practices for a safe fire and have a means of extinguishing the fire readily available. Avoid fires where there are dry conditions that could lead to your fire spreading. Follow your municipality’s requirements. Never burn when the municipalities or the county publishes information about burn bans.
